One thing that everyone considering the conversion should also think about is:

Has your D70 been treated for the deadly BLOD yet? icon_hun.gif

If not, the conversion may affect the potentially free repair. sweating.gif

Mine also BLOD treated already.

Conversion ... thinking about it. Probably wait a while for launch of D200 then decide.

Matt, can show one of your unprocessed photo from the D70i?

Pablo
Hi guys,

Does BLOD mean "Blinking Light Of Death" somewhat like "Blue Screen Of Death" that Bill Gates passed on to us haha0000.gif
Nisa

Right on man, nothing you can do about it.

It just comes when it wants to and freezes your D70. Only thing to do is send in to Service Center where they'll replace the light metering FCB.

Too bad, D70 didn't inherit the Ctrl-Alt-Del keystroke from Micros**ks .... oops I meant Microsoft blink.gif

errr what is BLOD?

if the conversaion is done, and we do need repair, how much would that cost me?

Blinking Light Of Death

Hmmm, if the AA filter is replaced before the camera is sent for repair and if they can't tell that the camera has been opened, then it may not cost you anything. But if they can tell that it has been tempered with, than repairs for this issue would cost SG$350. A couple of D70 users who bought cheaper sets outside of SG found that out when they brought in their cameras for repair only to be told that digital cameras do not have international warranties. icon_hun.gif

Whoops! Sorry 36_1_50.gif Haven't been paying attention to this thread.

Ok, can arrange a day, but I work Mon to Fri in the east, lunch from 12 - 1. Evening also can.

I'll let you fiddle with my D70i first, see if you like it, sort of a last chance to backout 36_11_7.gif

Choose a day, Sat is ok too, maybe others might want to look-see 36_1_12.gif 36_1_25.gif

Cheers,
Matt
