ZIGVIEW, ZIGVIEW

Hey guys, good news, saw a new toy on dpreview. especially good for shooting blind.

ZIGVIEW simply attaches to the eyepiece of your SLR camera where the viewfinder image is captured by a CMOS sensor built into the Zigview and relayed in real time to a 1.9 inch/TFT colour display for easy viewing at any angle.

Wanna a MO?? wub.gif

Hi PandaOng,

I noticed that item there (dpreview) a few days ago.
It would be nice if it could see through an IR filter unsure.gif

Cheers

I think it will only work for SLRs as it is mounted to the viewfinder.
Normal P&S don't have the mounting.

It will be good if they come up with one that can adjust viewing angle.

See the MO here

I think should be able to ....as it get the image from the CMOS/CCD which should register the IR images....dunno about 20D though....

if it cant, probably some one can remove its hot mirror naughty0.gif
Dennis
I thought this one sees what the view finder sees ??.
Don't think can see IR leh. It is merely a projection of the view finder.
Not even sure if there is a hot mirror ?.
Not sure thou but I will wait for them to eventually comes out with one like P&S where it can be rotated to any angle and maybe can switch to X-ray as well. haha0000.gif
photoexpress
I think Dennis is right... it just only a view finder, even if you put IR filter, it will not able to see from there.
It's good for people who take macro or lower angle pictures.
My Korea colleague told me it cost US$150.
ark19
Hmm...
But what a cmos ccd sees is different from what human eye sees right?
What we see thru R72 is almost opaque while the DC ccd is more sensitive and can see the IR thru the filter...

blink.gif
PandaOng
that is my thought too. if it is reading from what is capture from the CCD/CMOS....then most likely it can be view...but i did not see any connector for it to 'read' from the sensor.... shutup00.gif

Bro, the Zigview has a cmos ccd... blink.gif
Dennis
Don't think the zigview has a cmos / ccd, just a lcd to show what it sees in the view finder. More likely wysiwyg, it does not do recording. So my guess is if you can't see it on the view finder you can't see it on the zigview. Anybody can confirm ?? otherwise I will be the first one to get it.
quekky
i think it does have a cmos or ccd at the viewfinder side, if u see the korean sites it seems to be able to change the exposure settings or sensitivity

else how it project an image on it's lcd?
TeddyLoves
it must have a cmos. first of all, at least it has to have a sensor to capture images to project back in the LCD. second, cmos has the advantage over ccd on many things, such as battery consume, sharpness yada yada yada ...
photoexpress
Well... let me try to ask my Korean colleague... he might able to check. Will keep everyone posted.
