The yaks sure are cute. And they are delicious too.... more tender than beef dribble0.gif
But luckily for this yak, it would not be slaughtered for food. Like white tigers, pure white yaks are genetic anamolies and are rare. The Tibetans therefore consider white yaks as sacred and do not kill them for food unlike the normal black yaks. They are therefore sometimes used to earn tourist money. The owners usually charge 5 RMB (~S$1) to sit on the beautifully decorated yak like this one, for photo taking.
