Has anyone purchased or tried out this lens yet?

Sigma 30 mm f/1.4 EX DC HSM

I think it came in the last week or so and is selling for around SG$700, both Canon and Nikon mounts. I got to try it out at J316 today and must say that this is truely one incredible piece of glass. I fired off a few handheld shots wide open (f/1.4) and I found myself very impressed with its performance. The few photos I got were so sharp at the point of focus that I almost short-circuited my D70s with my drool. 36_3_8.gif

Unfortunately I wasn't carrying my D70i and did not have any 62mm IR filters so I wasn't able to do any IR test. sad.gif However, with only seven elements in its makeup, I believe this may be a good lens for IR. Shucks, I've been waiting for this lens for so long and it comes out on the day I have to get another SB800 wallbash.gif

O well, maybe next month. Meanwhile, has anyone tried it out for normal or IR shots?

Cheers,
Matt
