Hi NikkorAT "Wolfgang",
Beautiful photo's I must say.
I like the 1st one the most.
You write ....
"Why is it so difficult to get a blue sky in infrared pictures, even from landscapes?????
I know that the WB is very importend, but that not my problem. Befor every shooting I make a new WB setting
with my grey card (size A4). Do you have a good link where someone disribes clearly how to do this what everyone here in this forum does with his pics?"
As you will no doubt read, most do a "Custom White Ballance" using grass or leaves on trees as a reference.
Some have used the blue of the sky ?
How often you change your CWB I juess is up to how critical you want the effect to be....
As an example.... If you use a patch of grass at say 11AM for a reference and then take IR shots.
Then take the same shots at say 4PM, using the first CWB reference, the effect is a bit different.
If you are a purist, you would re do the CWB for each time of shot ( say morning and afternoon)
or with the sun at different angular points to your shot.
I think though, that a number of people that post here use the same CWB setting for many shots and for many days.....
I think it all comes down to how close to white you can make trees for instance, by not re-doing the CWB once set on a patch of grass etc.
"Hey guys" jump in and correct me if "I am off here" ... this is what I have found myself.
I have found that if I do a CWB before I start shooting, I can obtain better results with post processing the shot than if I use a CWB from shooting last week.
Can any one add to this ???
Cheers.
